A famous researcher in academia, Richard DeVaul is a highly trusted source in the world of studying diversity. He says that it is important to see and understand the fact that diversity in our thinking is absolutely necessary for us to create answers to the challenges we face each day.

Being able to think different, originates from different kinds of training, home life, and life events. As someone with a doctorate degree, DeVaul has been the leader of many initiatives that have earned millions upon millions of dollars in value to companies in the world of new business. Anyone who is asked to think about diversity will begin to picture different races, genders, cultures, etc. in their minds. Yet, there remains a plethora of different ways that people can be different. These differences come through life choices and experiences, and can end up being just as relevant. Included in these experiences would be things like education, line of work, military service, travel, and company ownership. Richard DeVaul believes that intelligent leaders need to comprehend that creating and nurturing a culture of inclusivity and love is what makes skilled employees desire to stay with the business long term.

It is a bit hard to measure the effects of diversity on creativity, but we have seen plenty of examples of companies soar on a diverse foundation of employees. DeVaul has done much research, engineering, and filled executive roles that have allowed him to get the inside scoop on diversity.
